When Paul penned this letter, he affirmed his right to eat any type of food (14a). Thus it is a mistake to suppose that saints may not be benefited by a better understanding of the gospel, at least as Paul preached it. And this leads us to see not only where there was an analogy with those who believe in a promised Saviour, but also to a weighty difference. Within the Church there was a narrower party and there was a more liberal party. And he gives his reason: "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith."
