It is of the greatest interest to examine the list of special gifts which Paul gives, because from it we learn much about the character and work of the early Church. You see, men of faith can have lapses of faith, and if you have the gift of faith, it doesn't mean it is going to operate all the time. It is important that our faith be established in the Word, because it doesn't change, my feelings do. For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, whether we are Jews or Gentiles [Baptist or Presbyterians], whether we be bond or free; we have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
